No data protection officer has been appointed: a business this size does not fall within the cases where the regulation requires one.
What you write in the availability form: name, email, phone if you leave one, dates, number of guests, the room you have in mind, your message. What you write to us by email. If you book through an online travel agency, the data that agency passes on: name, contact details, dates, number of guests. At check in, the identity documents of every guest, because Italian law requires it. And the technical data any website records: IP address, browser type, pages viewed. Nothing else. We buy lists from nobody.
To answer you and, if the stay happens, to manage it: art. 6.1.b GDPR, pre contractual and contractual measures taken at your request. To meet the obligations Italian law places on anyone who hosts guests, meaning the police notification, invoicing and the local tourist tax: art. 6.1.c. To keep the site running and safe, on technical data only: art. 6.1.f, legitimate interest.
Only name and email are required in the form: without them we have no way to reply. Everything else is optional, and if you leave it blank we still answer, just with a few more questions. Identity documents at check in are a legal obligation, not a request of ours: without them we cannot host you.
Netlify, Inc., which hosts this site and receives form submissions, appointed as data processor. Octorate, the management system the property runs its bookings on: what you enter in the booking engine is processed by it, under its own policy. The Italian police, for the guest notification required by art. 109 of the consolidated public security act. The municipality of Alcamo and the Region of Sicily, for the tourist tax and for tourism statistics. Our accountant, for anything to do with the invoice. If you booked through an online travel agency, that agency already holds your data and answers for it on its own account. Nobody else, and nobody for money.
Two things on this site go through United States companies, and it is worth saying so rather than hiding it. The first is Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco: form submissions rest on its servers. The second is the Google map on the Alcamo page, which receives your IP address when you open that page. In both cases the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. If you would rather avoid the map, the address is written out in full beside it and at the foot of every page.
Requests that do not become bookings are deleted within twelve months. Booking data stays ten years, which is how long Italian tax and accounting obligations run. Guest documents serve the police notification and no copy is kept beyond what is needed. Technical logs stay a few days with the host.
No profiling. No decisions taken about you automatically. No targeted advertising, no tracking pixels, no newsletter you did not ask for. If any of that ever changes, this page changes first.
You can ask to see your data, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict its use, to receive it in a machine readable format, and you can object to processing. Write to info@leantichecantine.it: we answer within a month. If you think we have not done things properly, you can contact the Italian data protection authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome, garanteprivacy.it.
This site is not aimed at minors and asks them for nothing. The data of children who stay with us comes from whoever makes the booking, along with their own.
